UK renewables investment company, Octopus Group, has bought a 180 megawatt wind farm project in Australia from Britain’s RES, the companies said on Tuesday without disclosing the price of the sale.

“It is great for Octopus to continue our long-standing European relationship with two strong counter parties in RES and Vestas, who between them bring deep wind farm construction and grid experience in Australia,” Octopus Australia’s investment director, Darren Brown, said in a statement.

Upon completion, the wind project will consist of 43 wind turbines with an expectation to generate enough electricity to power approximately 124,000 homes. These 43 wind turbines will be supplied and installed by Vestas.

The project's delivery is expected in the second quarter of 2022, while the commissioning to begin in the first quarter of 2023.
