SLB and AIQ to deploy AI across ADNOC’s subsurface operations
Global energy technology firm SLB and Abu Dhabi-based AI specialist AIQ announced a collaborative venture to develop and roll out ENERGYᵃⁱ, an agentic artificial intelligence solution, across ADNOC’s subsurface operations.
Built on seven decades of proprietary data, ENERGYᵃⁱ merges large language models with agentic AI tailored to ADNOC’s workflows. In initial tests using just 15 per cent of ADNOC’s data from two oilfields, the system delivered seismic interpretation that was ten times faster and 70 per cent more precise.
SLB and AIQ will co‑create and implement agentic AI workflows for geology, seismic exploration, and reservoir modelling, enhanced by SLB’s Lumi™ data and AI platform, which aims to improve data accessibility and streamline operations at scale.
A scalable version of ENERGYᵃⁱ, including multiple AI agents handling different subsurface tasks, is currently in development, with deployment scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025.
“This partnership reflects our vision to harness AI for energy optimisation… Our ENERGYᵃⁱ agentic AI solution is pioneering in its sheer scale and impact,” said Dennis Jol, CEO of AIQ.
Rakesh Jaggi, SLB’s President of Digital & Integration, added: “Our collaborations with AIQ have already delivered innovative solutions. Now we're building the foundation for the next era of intelligent energy operations."
Through ENERGYᵃⁱ, the partnership seeks to automate complex, high-stakes tasks, enhance decision-making, and optimise production across ADNOC’s upstream operations—ushering in a new era of AI-driven energy transformation.
