With only two days left, hundreds of global energy industry executives and professionals have already registered for the Business Connect: Taiwan Business and Trade Show Webinar for the renewable energy industry scheduled on Wednesday, May 25.

Dozens of CEOs and senior executives across the solar, wind, and energy storage sectors, policy makers, thought leaders and regional investors from across ASEAN are set to take part in the Business Connect webinar organised by the Taiwan Bureau of Foreign Trade.

The virtual event will take place from 9.00am to 12.30pm Singapore time and host keynote speakers from Taiwan Bureau of Energy, Singapore Ministry of Trade & Industry and TAITRA, connecting leading companies with ASEAN regional investors and the industry.

Demand for renewable energy resources has risen dramatically around the world and renewable capacity is projected to account for nearly 95 per cent of the increase in global power capacity through 2026, the International Energy Agency said in a recent report.

With 16 of the world’s 20 most ideal wind sits located in the Taiwan Strait, it expects another 10GW of offshore wind to be installed by 2035. It is already the world’s second-largest PV cell manufacturer and by 2025 it plans to generate 20 percent of its energy from renewable energy sources, including 20GW of solar PV, 5.7GW of offshore wind and 1.2GW of onshore wind.
