Saipem, Tenaris and SIAD to collaborate on CCU study in Italy
Italian energy group Saipem said on Thursday it has partnered with Tenaris and SIAD to start the design phase of a carbon dioxide capture and utilisation (CCU) plant, which will be built at the Tenaris plant in Dalmine, northern Italy.
The companies said in a statement that the plant will capture 30 tons of CO2 per day that are produced by the thermoelectric power plant installed at the Tenaris Dalmine plant.
The CO2 captured through Saipem will be used by SIAD, specifically in the food and beverage industry, for crops, in water treatment, in metal processing and as a refrigerant gas with a reduced environmental impact, the companies said.
The three partners will begin the agreement with a feasibility study, they said.
