Fuel maker, Nacero agrees with NextEra over 20-TWh wind off-take deal
US based low carbon fuel maker Nacero has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with NextEra Energy Resources to supply lower and net-zero lifecycle carbon footprint petrol to consumers.
According to the agreement, NextEra Energy Resources’ Texas wind power operations will provide Nacero with nearly 20 billion kilowatt-hours of green electricity starting 2025 for 20 years.
“We applaud Nacero’s commitment to sustainability through their innovative technology and are pleased to be able to support the company’s renewable energy goals. This will also create significant economic stimulus for the local community, creating good jobs and additional tax revenue,” said Matt Handel, senior vice president of development for NextEra Energy Resources.
This wind power, the companies said, will complement Nacero’s planned 200-megawatt on-site solar photovoltaic power plant and the facility will be only powered by renewable electricity.
