Solar energy could become 40% of the US grid by 2035
Solar energy could supply more than 40 percent of the US' electricity by 2035, which is only 3 percent higher from today's supply, said a memo published by the Department of Energy.
This scenario could happen if congress adopts policies like tax credits for renewable energy projects and component factories, said the memo.
Last week, the US Senate approved US $1 trillion infrastructure plan which is also expected to boost solar energy through investments in updating the electricity grid.
