Siemens, GRI to develop UK offshore wind blade, tower investments

Siemens Gamesa Renewables and GRI Renewable industries will develop a blade and tower factories in the Humber region.

The UK government will award Siemens Gamesa Renewables and GRI Renewable industries unspecified grant funding to develop blade and tower factories in the Humber region.

"With its close proximity to some of the world's largest offshore wind farms and strong skills base, the Humber region is vitally important for the growth of the British offshore wind industry and is at the heart of our green recovery," said Business and Energy Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng.

Siemens Gamesa will invest  GBP 186 million (USD 258.16m) to expand its base within the Green Port Hull complex. While, GRI Renewable, will build a GBP 78 million offshore wind turbine tower factory at Able Marine Energy Park in Hull.
