GASTECH DEI WEBINAR

As the energy sector looks to recruit aggressively in the next decade to keep pace with the energy transition and the evolving dynamics of the industry, fostering true diversity has emerged as one of the key foundations of that strategy. The webinar aims to facilitate frank discussions about the make-up of the energy workforce post-pandemic, as well as providing practical advice on how to create a more diverse and inclusive workplace for the full spectrum of the oil, gas and energy industry.

Role of diverse talent in the energy sector

The event is presented by dmg events, the global driver of the energy industry and the world’s largest organiser of energy events with a portfolio of more than 30 world-class energy events, reaching more than two million energy professionals.

“Talent plays a critical role in our energy transition. Energy industry leaders need to ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion remain a priority in order to attract and retain talent – how are our energy leaders tackling this? Watch this special webinar where our expert speakers will explore what a more diverse workforce can mean for your organisation and share inspirational experiences on how to transform a workforce,” said Sarah Louise Howell, Vice President of Gastech.

“This webinar comes ahead of Gastech 2022, where these topics will be explored further and provide a critical opportunity for the industry to shape long-term solutions to these questions. Leaders across the energy value chain will drive the conversation on building a tech-savvy, diverse and inclusive workforce as they look to adapt to a changing energy landscape,” she added.

Spotlight on recruitment practices

The Gastech webinar aims to reinvigorate the conversation around diversity, equity and inclusion agenda in the energy sector and explore whether current recruitment practices reflect new realities in the job market. The webinar will also discuss whether dispersed and remote working arrangements disadvantage already marginalised segments of the labour force, and whether environmental, social and governance schemes in the energy industry weather current headwinds to recover the upward momentum of years.

The webinar will be hosted by Energy Connects, the energy publishing platform of dmg events that brings together the biggest names across the energy ecosystem under one roof to discuss the latest trends shaping the future of the energy industry.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in Milan, Gastech 2022 will gather government ministers, CEOs, policy makers, business leaders, innovators and disruptors to take stock of the evolving energy landscape from September 5-8.
