Hydrogen, CCS and beyond: Fukui’s legacy of safety in a low-carbon future

In a studio interview at Gastech 2025 in Milan, Chiranjib Sengupta sat down with Yo Fukui, the Chief Executive of Fukui, to discuss how the Japanese company with a 90-year history in manufacturing safety valves has evolved into a global leader in providing essential safety systems for the energy industry. From LNG to hydrogen and carbon capture, Yo highlighted the company’s critical role in enabling a secure energy transition. Describing Fukui as a “simple company” focused on making only safety valves, the CEO explained why these valves are essential for the reliability of some of the world’s most complex energy projects.
