Offshore services thrive at High Seas Marine

Engineer Ibrahim A. Al-Saeed, Managing Director of High Seas Marine & Industrial Services speaks to ADIPEC News about the offshore industry and market opportunities

How does the company serve the oil and gas industry?

High Seas Marine & Industrial Services, a division of Ali Al Tamimi Group of Companies, exists to serve the oil and gas industry to provide high quality services to any offshore business operating in the Arabian Gulf by providing services such as;

Marine Agency: by being licenced agents in all ports on the Eastern Seaboard of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, High Seas Marine & Industrial Services is well placed to assist companies import their vessels into Saudi Ports, and then to continue agency services by providing the necessary infrastructure to facilitate crew changes to and from Dammam airport within the strict 72 hour timeframe of Saudi Immigration regulations.

Ship Chandler: High Seas Marine & Industrial Services are also licensed as ship chandlers, able to supply provisions (dry, chilled, frozen and fresh), engine spare parts requirements, marine deck requirements, marine consumables to clients vessels, utilising our own cold stores, our own road transport, (which hold Aramco passes) and our own taxi boats, thus facilitating delivery to owners vessels in Aramco ports and anchorages.

Vessel Charter: we have our own fast intervention crew boats which are Aramco approved, and have experience of being under charter on projects in Aramco fields.

Engineering Support: we have our own technical team which can provide engineering support to clients, with marine engineering, electrical and air conditioning support.

What role does ADIPEC Offshore & Marine play for your business?

ADIPEC Offshore & Marine is the ideal platform to showcase our services to a large number of potential clients in a short period of time. We are already known in the region but with the expansion of the industry in general, this is a good forum to bring us to the attention of new clients.

How important is this region to your business?

This region is of paramount importance to us. We have undertaken charter work in Malaysia previously, but we see the Gulf as our home waters and are consolidating our resources in Saudi Arabia to cope with the many new projects and regeneration of older ones in the future.

We see more new companies entering the Gulf market and are willing to provide what assistance our ten years’ experience in the industry has given us, to become “partners” in all clients’ “success.”

What plans do you have for regional investment/expansion?

Confident of the renewed activity in the Gulf market, we are looking to extend both our charter fleet and our taxi boat fleet, at the same time as investing more in infrastructure onshore to further improve our services, including creating new support bases in ports such as Ras Al Khair.  We have already developed our 10,000 M2  yard in Ras Tanura with the addition of cold storage and accommodation for ship’s crews in transit, providing them with some comforts and amenities while transiting to/from their vessels.
