Eni's CE0 said Europe needs long term energy plan
Claudio Descalzi, head of Italy’s Eni said in an interview that Europe needs a long term energy plan, as the continent braces for a long and expensive winter.
"Europe needs to have what it hasn't got today, a structured and long-term energy security plan," Descalzi said in an interview for La Repubblica newspaper, published on Saturday.
"I don't think there will be problems with gas procurement, but it will cost more," he said regarding this winter that is approaching.
He added that the EU imports almost all the natural gas and most of the oil it needs, explaining that the ongoing gas prices are proof that the European Union needs to work on a long term energy security plan.
As households across Europe are facing a surge in utilities prices, governments across Europe are looking for a solution to face what is expected to be an expensive winter.
