STRYDE secures multiple seismic processing contracts for energy and industrial sectors
STRYDE, the onshore seismic data experts, have secured a total of 11 new contracts since July 2023, delivering subsurface insights to companies in the geothermal, CCUS, oil and gas, mining, and water exploration sectors.
STRYDE provided its new contracts both conventional, and in-field processing services for 2D and 3D seismic surveys from countries across the globe, including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Ukraine, the USA, Colombia, and Brazil.
STRYDE Lens™, the company’s unrivalled in-field processing solution has been selected for four of the 11 processing projects. Ukraine’s largest private energy operator, DTEK Oil&Gas, is one of the companies benefiting from the STRYDE Lens™ solution.
Earlier this year, DTEK Oil&Gas purchased STRYDE's nodal acquisition system, and the data acquired during a recent seismic survey in Ukraine has been processed using the STRYDE Lens™ solution.
Yevgeniy Solodkyi, Head of the Exploration Department at DTEK Oil&Gas, said, “We received fully processed and migrated seismic volumes within just two weeks of concluding our seismic survey in Ukraine. The quality of the Lens™ image rivalled that of the conventional processed image that was concurrently being progressed and took four months to deliver.
The use of STRYDE Lens™ allowed data processing to commence immediately after the first batch of data was downloaded from the seismic recording devices, thereby reducing the time between the end of acquisition and the delivery of the seismic image by 88% (when compared to conventional processing performed by a well-known processing contractor).
Amine Ourabah, Chief Geophysicist at STRYDE, said: “The recent surge in STRYDE Lens™ processing contracts is testament to our ability to deliver rapid, high-quality seismic, enabled by our team of highly skilled land processing geophysicists and our unique ability to transform our state-of-the-art acquisition system into a processing environment that our team can access remotely.
“This powerful combination enables us to deliver an interpretable seismic image very quickly after survey completion. For our customers, this means they can make informed decisions much earlier in the process than would be possible with conventional methods,” Ourabah added.
Companies in the mining, water exploration, and oil and gas sectors have also chosen STRYDE for conventional production processing of 2D lines and 3D seismic surveys. These developments now position STRYDE as a competitor to major processing firms worldwide.
Mike Popham, CEO of STRYDE, said: "I am incredibly proud of the processing service we've developed over the past few years, transforming STRYDE from a technology start-up into a leading supplier of onshore seismic solutions.
“With this growth, I am excited to announce that the strong market demand for STRYDE's data processing capabilities has allowed us to invest further in our own Centre for High-Performance Computing (CHPC) at our Asker facility in Norway,” he added.
Until recently, land seismic data has been predominantly exclusive to the oil and gas industry, primarily due to the traditionally high costs associated with its acquisition and processing. However, STRYDE's innovative nodal system has made acquisition operations more affordable for new energy markets.
Despite this breakthrough, many companies in new energy markets lack the in-house capabilities to process the raw seismic data into interpretable subsurface images. Consequently, there has been a growing demand for STRYDE's data processing services, which expertly convert raw data into clear, actionable images.
This capability not only supports the needs of energy companies but also underscores STRYDE's role as a crucial partner in enhancing their exploration and development efforts for new energy opportunities.
