Shell to invest £25 billion in UK energy system
Shell UK is planning to invest up to £25 billion ($33 billion) into the UK energy system over the next decade, said a top executive in a post on LinkedIn.
David Bunch, the UK country manager said that more than 75 percent of the investment will be in low and zero-carbon products and services, including offshore wind, hydrogen and electric mobility. The company plans to invest between £20 and £25 billion in the system.
“These investments, subject to board approval, aim to propel the UK closer to net zero and help to ensure security of supply whilst stimulating economic growth and jobs,” he added.
The executive explained that for these investments to fully take place there has to be a “stable” political discourse.
