Japan, Indonesia to cooperate on decarbonisation technology
Japan and Indonesia will cooperate on advanced energy transition technologies such as hydrogen, ammonia and carbon capture and storage (CCS), the Japanese industry ministry said on Monday.
The countries said they have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on the ‘Realisation of Energy Transitions’ by Koichi Hagiuda, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan, and Arifin Tasrif, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Indonesia.
"Indonesia and Japan can together develop carbon capture utilisation and storage by use available natural resources in Indonesia," Indonesia's minister Arifin said in the statement on Monday.
The MOC was signed by both ministers at a bilateral meeting held in AJakarta on Monday.
