Siemens Energy explains the process by which their equipment will help the plant.

Hitachi Zosen Inova selected Siemens Energy to provide power equipment for the Dubai Waste Management Center waste-to-energy plant (wte), in the UAE, which will be the largest in the Middle East region when it is completed in 2024 the companies said in a statement.

The companies said that Siemens Energy will primarily supply electrical house substations and the equipment such as switchgears, distribution transformers, and a variety of other power solutions for the project.

Hitachi Zosen Inova is part of a consortium, comprising Dubai Holding, Dubal Holding, ITOCHU Corporation, BESIX Group, and Tech Group, to develop the plant, which will be built and operated under a 35-year concession period with Dubai Municipality.

The Dubai Waste Management Center is designed to have a capacity to process 1.9 million tons of waste per year, which is equivalent to 45 percent of Dubai’s current municipal waste generation. The aim is to convert it to renewable energy.
