Russian trio to build 67.2MW wind farm in Sakhalin island
Russian coal producer East Mining Company, the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic and the Sakhalin regional government will cooperate on building a 67 MW wind farm on Russia's Sakhalin island. The agreement will cost US $116.46 m (RUB8.5bn) to build and the work will begin by the end of 2024.
“Uglegorsk wind farm is one of the key elements of the strategy of long-term responsible development that we have adopted,”said the East Mining Company general director Maksim Kuzemchenko.
The 67 MW wind farm will comprise 16 turbines.
