France to invest in hydrogen, small nuclear plants by 2030
President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday that France wants to become a leader in green hydrogen by 2030, and will build new, smaller nuclear reactors, as he unveiled his plan to invest 30 billion euro ($35 billion).
“We must wage the battle of innovation and industrialisation at the same time," Macron said. He also said that France "must be a leader in green hydrogen by 2030.”
The French president said that they will build a low-carbon plane, a small modular reactor as well as two mega factories for the production of green hydrogen till 2030. He is speaking six months ahead of the presidential elections.
The president made these remarks infront of the entire government, a group of businessmen, and young entrepreneurs.
