South Africa attracts 102 wind, solar bids in REIPPP round

South Africa's Department of Energy has published a list of 39 wind and 63 solar projects who submitted their bids in its latest tender for the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Program (REIPPPP).

REIPPPP is a competitive tender process designed to facilitate private sector investment into grid-connected renewable energy generation in the country. This round is to award a 1 GW of solar and 1.6 GW of wind to be connected to the grid by April 2024.

The final bidders are expected to be announced between October and November of this year.
