His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, chaired a high-level meeting of the Executive Committee of the ADNOC Board of Directors, where strong first-quarter results, a historic gas breakthrough, and the rollout of a new AI platform took center stage, according to the Abu Dhabi Media Office.

HH Sheikh Khaled reviewed ADNOC’s Q1 2025 financial performance and strategic growth plans across key energy sectors. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, His Excellency Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Managing Director and Group CEO of Mubadala Investment Company, and Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance.

Among the key milestones highlighted was ADNOC’s first-ever production of unconventional gas in the UAE, an achievement enabled through advanced technologies and strategic international partnerships. This development supports the nation’s push toward greater energy self-sufficiency.

The committee also reviewed the launch of “MEERAi,” ADNOC’s new artificial intelligence platform designed to speed up and enhance executive decision-making. A full rollout of the system is expected across all operations later this year.

In addition, HH Sheikh Khaled was briefed on ADNOC’s international growth agenda, including the continued expansion of its XRG platform, plans to raise LNG production capacity to 20–25 million tonnes per annum by 2035, and its ambition to become one of the top three global chemical producers.

His Highness emphasised that these advancements cement ADNOC’s position as a reliable global energy provider while driving operational efficiency and value creation through the integration of advanced technologies and AI. He noted that such initiatives are key to ADNOC’s ambition to lead the energy sector in AI adoption.

The meeting also covered progress on domestic growth initiatives, including three new production concessions awarded to ADNOC and its international partners by the Supreme Council for Financial and Economic Affairs.
