Crude output still shut down after Ida in Gulf of Mexico
The U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) said that 93 percent, or 1.7 million barrels per day (bpd), of crude oil production and 86percent, or 1.9 billion cubic feet per day, of natural gas output remains shut in the U.S.-regulated northern Gulf of Mexico has been shutdown due to Hurricane Ida.
The bureau said that a total of 119 oil and gas platforms and six rigs remain evacuated.
“A total of 3 dynamically positioned rigs remain off location. This number represents 20 percent of the 15 DP rigs currently operating in the Gulf,” said the bureau in a statement.
