EGYPS 2023: Methanex seeing strong growth in methanol as an alternative energy fuel

In an exclusive studio interview from EGYPS 2023, Julian Walker sat down with Rich Sumner, CEO of Methanex Corporation, to discuss why methanol as an alternative energy fuel is a growing area for the company. Rich sees buoyant demand for methanol, especially around demand for lower carbon methanol which is happening in the energy market in relation to marine fuels. He added that Methanex was looking at ways they can operate and make investments to lower the company’s own carbon footprint.
