SLB OneSubsea and Subsea7 have secured a substantial engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract for bp's Ginger project offshore Trinidad and Tobago, the companies announced in a press release.

The award marks the first project under a new global framework agreement between bp and the Subsea Integration Alliance partners, establishing a novel approach that promises to optimise system-level performance through increased transparency and early engagement.

Located off the southeast coast of Trinidad at water depths reaching 90 metres, the Ginger development will feature four standardised vertical monobore subsea trees and tubing hangers, specifically designed for rapid delivery and installation.

Notably, the project will introduce the region's first high-integrity pressure protection system (HIPPS) manifold, which is expected to deliver significant safety, efficiency and environmental benefits. Subsea7 will provide complementary infrastructure including a diver-installed tie-in system and flexible production flowline.

Mads Hjelmeland, CEO of SLB OneSubsea, expressed enthusiasm about the new collaborative model: "When we first entered this long-term, strategic agreement with bp, it was with the intent of strengthening subsea project performance together. Unlocking FID for Ginger is a significant win for this new way of working."

The framework defines an innovative commercial structure that aligns incentives among all stakeholders to accelerate value creation throughout project lifecycles.

Olivier Blaringhem, CEO of Subsea Integration Alliance, described the contract as "exciting and important," highlighting how the partnership "expands our EPCI collaboration to Trinidad and Tobago" while creating long-term value and delivering "the best possible total cost of ownership" for the Ginger project.
