EDF must restructure for future:CEO
French state backed utility, EDF, is working on an in-depth reform, despite being delayed due to the government, CEO Jean-Bernard Levy told French weekly Le Journal Du Dimanche.
EDF must move forward with its development in the nuclear sector and in renewable energy in response to climate change, he explained.
The CEO said that the utility’ short-term future is secured due to strong first half results and higher electricity prices during the second half,"in medium and long term an in-depth reform remains vital, otherwise EDF cannot remain a top league player," he added.
Delays of the group's restructure has been due to a dispute with the European Commission and the French government.
