TotalEnergies has entered a two-year strategic agreement with Emerson’s Aspen Technology business to implement an advanced industrial data platform across its global operations. The move is designed to consolidate and streamline data gathering across the company’s industrial sites, enabling faster integration of artificial intelligence and improving operational performance.

The collaboration centres on the deployment of AspenTech Inmation, a robust industrial data fabric that allows for real-time, secure data collection and sharing at scale. This system will aggregate information from various production sites worldwide, giving TotalEnergies a centralised digital backbone for more responsive and intelligent operations.

By strengthening its data infrastructure, TotalEnergies aims to improve early detection of anomalies and performance issues, optimise energy consumption, and enhance safety standards across its facilities. The strategy supports the company’s broader ambition to accelerate its energy transition through the use of cutting-edge digital technologies.

Namita Shah, President of OneTech at TotalEnergies, said the agreement highlights the company’s commitment to industrial excellence through innovation. “At TotalEnergies, digital technology is a key enabler of our transformation toward a more sustainable and efficient energy future,” she said. “This collaboration is a sign of our intention to turn data and digital tech into the hallmarks of our facilities’ industrial excellence.”

Vincent Servello, President of Aspen Technology at Emerson, echoed the importance of the partnership, emphasising the companies’ long-standing relationship. “We’re proud to work with TotalEnergies in their next digital transformation phase. The powerful combination of AI and our industrial data fabric solution will serve to accelerate TotalEnergies’ mission,” he said.

The new system will also tie into Emerson’s broader ‘Project Beyond’ initiative, which focuses on building software-defined, open automation solutions for industrial clients. This strategic alignment will provide TotalEnergies with enhanced control capabilities and more scalable digital infrastructure.

As global energy companies look to boost efficiency and reduce emissions, this partnership positions TotalEnergies at the forefront of digital industrial innovation. The rollout of AspenTech Inmation™ across its network is expected to provide measurable gains in sustainability, operational insight, and data-driven decision-making over the next two years.
