Emerson Technologies expands clientele for geological modeling software

Deep geothermal energy company HITA said it has selected global software and technology company Emerson as a key technology provider in the discovery and development of geothermal energy sources in northern Belgium.

“Emerson technologies use seismic, geologic and other data to generate detailed models that can determine the best location for geothermal plants,” Stijn Bos, CEO and senior project geologist at HITA, said in a statement.

The company said that a highly accurate and realistic picture of subsurface geology was vital for the safe development of sustainable energy sources.

Emerson’s geological and reservoir modeling software can help HITA to reduce risk in selecting locations for renewable geothermal energy projects, thereby increasing the safety and reliability of construction and operation, the company said.
