Enel X Rus to develop infrastructure for electric vehicles in the Sverdlovsk region

The companies are developing charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the Sverdlovsk region.

Enel X Rus, subsidiary of Enel X in Russia, signed a cooperation agreement with the Development Corporation of the Sverdlovsk Region (DCSR), to develop the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the Sverdlovsk region.

These would include digital solutions, and to cooperate in the field of sustainable energy projects implementation.

“Increasing investment in the production of electric vehicles is a global trend. We see that the largest carmakers declare the termination of the development of natural gas vehicles,"said Maxim Prachik, General Director of the Development Corporation of the Sverdlovsk Region in a statement.

"The growing demand for electric vehicles in Russia must be supported with the relevant charging infrastructure. The avenue is very promising. Enel X has the necessary technologies and solutions in the field of energy efficiency. For our part, we will contribute to implementing the company’s innovative solutions on the territory of the Sverdlovsk region,” he added.

Both parties said in a statement that they are committed to establish a data sharing process, to organize events on e-mobility and related infrastructure development issues. 

The company also said, it signed a USD $136 million wind project with Russia’s Rostov region to construct a wind farm.
