Nordex Group secures 135 MW wind energy contracts across UK, Belgium and France
The Nordex Group has announced a significant expansion of its European operations after securing contracts worth 135 MW across three countries at the end of June.
The German wind turbine manufacturer will supply equipment for multiple projects, including two wind farms in Scotland totalling 75.7 MW. These Scottish developments will feature six N133/4800 machines alongside seven N163/6.X turbines, marking the first deployment of this latter model in the UK market.
In Belgium, Nordex will deliver two N163/5.X turbines for an 11.8 MW wind farm, representing another first for the company in that market. The Belgian installation will showcase the versatility of Nordex's latest turbine technology in different European conditions.
French customers have ordered nine turbines across two separate wind sites. Seven N149/5.X turbines will generate 39.9 MW, whilst two N117/3600 turbines will provide an additional 7.2 MW of capacity. The French contracts demonstrate continued confidence in Nordex's established turbine platforms.
All contracts include comprehensive service and maintenance agreements for varying periods, ensuring long-term revenue streams for the Hamburg-based company. Deliveries and installations are scheduled to commence in mid-2026, providing a clear timeline for project development.
The Nordex Group has maintained confidentiality regarding customer names and specific wind farm locations, following industry practice for commercial projects.
With approximately 57 GW of wind power capacity installed across more than 40 markets, Nordex continues to strengthen its position in the European renewable energy sector. The company reported consolidated sales of around $7.9 billion in 2024, supported by its workforce of over 10,400 employees and manufacturing facilities spanning six countries.
