Vestas says data compromised by cyber attack
Wind turbine builder Vestas said on Monday that the cyber security attack that took place over the weekend has affected its internal IT infrastructure and data has been compromised; however, no third party data has been affected yet.
"The company’s preliminary findings indicate that the incident has impacted parts of Vestas’ internal IT infrastructure and that data has been compromised. At this stage, the work and investigation are still ongoing," said Vestas in a statement on Monday.
The company said that the manufacturing, construction and service teams have been able to continue operations, "although several operational IT systems have been shut down as a precaution."
Vestas has already been under financial revisions in which they cut their 2021 outlook for the second time earlier in November.
