Enel Green Power España, signed a 10-year Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) starting January 2023, with the international healthcare company Johnson & Johnson for 270 GWh/year of renewable power.

The companies said that the agreement, along with some others, will bring Johnson & Johnson to the equivalent of 100 percent renewable electricity in Europe by 2023.

“This innovative agreement, with a hybrid combination of wind and solar renewable sources, is showcasing the possibilities that Pan-European Virtual PPAs can offer to companies, boosting their sustainability journey towards the fight against climate change throughout the continent," said Salvatore Bernabei, CEO of Enel Green Power and Head of Enel's Global Power Generation business line.

The companies said that the energy will be supplied through three renewable plants that are currently under construction, which will create a hybrid energy mix between solar and wind sources.
