Sonnedix Japan begins operation of a 2.5MW rooftop solar PV plant

Sonnedix Japan said it began operation of a 2.5MW rooftop solar PV plant on top of a logistics centre.

Independent power producer (IPP) Sonnedix Japan, said it began operation of a 2.5MW rooftop solar PV plant, built on top of a logistics centre in western Japan.

“This plant will be supplying approximately 3,000MWh of clean electricity every year, through a 14.5 years Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed last June 2020 – the first long-term corporate PPA secured by Sonnedix Japan,” said the company in a statement.

“We are very excited to celebrate the start of operations of our first roof-top project for Sonnedix Japan, and the first long-term corporate PPA signed by Sonnedix Japan in this country.“ said Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix in a statement.

Sonnedix Japan currently manages 16 projects in operation totalling 290MW, with over 250MW in construction and various stages of development.
